Obituary for Donald L. Snider

Donald L. Snider of Utica, formerly of Warren, died peacefully January 16, 2019. He was 90 years old. Don was born December 8, 1928 in Remus, Michigan to Alice (nee Wendling) and Francis Snider. A graduate of St. Theresa High School in Detroit, Don received his degree in Pharmacy from Detroit Institute of Technology. He owned Centre Pharmacy in Warren for 25 years.

Don married Carol Stickle in January of 1951. Together they raised 4 daughters and enjoyed over 50 years of marriage.

Don loved cars, cruises, and traveling, especially to Hawaii. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren. Don recently celebrated his 90th birthday with 50 of his family members. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Don is survived by his daughters, Linda (the late David) Wakefield, Sally Thompson (Mike) Reid, Nancy (Mike) Lechkun, and Jill (William) Sears. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Erin (Mark), Michael (Kelly), Kerry (John), Brad, Rebecca (Ken), Kevin, Kyle, and Jason, great-grandsons, Henry, Asher, Nicholas, and Joshua and siblings, Louise Darin, Harold Snider, and Elaine Graham. Don is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Friday, January 18th, 2-8pm with prayers at 7:30pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thecla Catholic Church, 20740 S. Nunneley, Clinton Twp. Saturday, January 19th at 11am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10:30am.
