Obituary for Clarence Edward Heppner

Clarence Edward Heppner “Ed” of South Lyon died at the age of 77, following a battle with Alzheimer’s. Loving husband to Rosanne Heppner, father to Brent Heppner (Gail), Kellie Dummer (Eric), and Chad Heppner, and step-father to Angela Kadro (Zane), Holly Perry (Steve) and Tim Smith (Laurie,) and grandfather to 10. He is also survived by his sister Donna Ramsey-Black and nieces.

Known as Ed by most people, he joined the Navy after high school and traveled to many places including Europe. After the service, he returned home to become a member of the Pipefitters Union and worked in the HVAC industry for almost 40 years.

Ed loved being outside fixing things, playing with his dogs, hunting, fishing, and camping. He spent most summers preparing for his annual fall hunting trip “out west”. These hunting trips were a highlight of his year and provided many memories for he and his buddies. He was lucky enough to be able to move to Idaho and enjoy nature for a couple years before becoming too sick.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
