Obituary for Christine Ethel Crippen

Christine Ethel Dingwall Crippen, age 93, of Bloomfield Township, Michigan, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019. She was born July 3, 1926 in Detroit to parents James Dingwall and Ethel Richardson Dingwall.

Christine graduated from Madison High School in Madison Heights, Michigan, and then attended Adrian Collage in Michigan. She worked at Saks Fifth Avenue for 25 years in women's apparel seamstress- alterations, in both the Detroit and Troy, Michigan stores. She also had an independent apparel design, fabrication, and seamstress business.

Christine was very artistic. She loved classical music and was an accomplished pianist who also sang in her church choir. She designed and fabricated beautiful apparel and household items and was highly skilled in interior design and sewing-knitting crafts. Christine had numerous interests which included attending the theater, golf, bridge, travel, gardening, and gourmet cooking.

Christine is survived by her three devoted children, Bruce, Kathleen and Susan; three loving grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa, and Josh; five cherished great-grandchildren Kyleigh, Brayden, Mikhail, Angelique, and Alexander; and several caring nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Colby “Pete” Crippen of 44 years. She is also preceded in death by her honored parents, James and Ethel Dingwall, as well as her dear brothers, Hamish, Jack, and William.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 30, 2019, at 11am at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road, Clawson, MI 49017, south of Maple Road (15 Mile Road). Friends may visit for coffee and greetings beginning at 10am.
