Christine Barnett, 70, lost her battle with cancer on October 14, 2019,

Christine (Chris) is survived by her loving husband, Randy, her sister Mary (Larry) Manteuffel, her step daughter Wendy (Kevin) Sanders and her niece and nephews; Alison (Rob) Wilker, Jacob (Sara) Manteuffel and Philip (Sarah) Manteuffel, Clayton Barnett, Kyle Barnett and Michael Turner. She is predeceased by her mother, Martha Alexander, her father, James Third and her son Iain Hunt.

Christine was born on October 4th, 1949 in Fraserburgh, Scotland. She immigrated to the US in 1956 with her family on the Queen Mary. She graduated from Waterford Kettering at 16 years old. Chris studied social work at Oakland University, then worked for Oakland County Juvenile Court. She married at 21, became a step mother and had a son, Iain. Tragically Iain passed away at the age of 8. Christine enrolled at Detroit College of Law, while working full time. She graduated #1 in her class. After graduation, she met her current husband of 25 years Randy while golfing. She worked as a lawyer, then Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources at Bloomfield Hills Schools for 24 years.

She enjoyed tennis, golf and traveling. She and Randy traveled to Wimbledon earlier this year and had an amazing vacation in England and France. She was an incredibly smart, generous and loving person and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home in Clawson from 3-7 on Saturday, October 19th and 12-2 on Sunday, October 20th with the Funeral Service beginning at 2pm.
