Obituary for Charles Angelo DeVito

Charles Angelo DeVito of Troy, died peacefully November 20, 2012, at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit. He was 70 years old. Charles was born March 7, 1942, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Lena (nee Battaglia) and Anthony DeVito.

Charles graduated from Chaney High School in Youngstown and attended Youngstown State University. He proudly served in the United States Coast Guard from 1960-1964 and was founder and owner of Systems Duplicating Company Inc. (SDCI)

Charles was a lifelong member of Red Run Golf and Country Club and an active member and sponsor of Ducks Unlimited. He was a former member of St. Thomas More Church in Troy and currently a member of St. Lucy Croatian Catholic Church in Troy.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Charles was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Bernice, and sons, Charles DeVito, Jr., Anthony (Annmarie) DeVito, and Joseph (Kellie) DeVito. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Anthony, Jr., Dominic, Evan, Aidan, and Elena and sisters Marie Carney and Donna Maiorana.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.)Friday 1-9pm with a prayer service at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Lucy Croatian Catholic Church, 200 W. Wattles Road, Troy, Saturday at 11am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10:30am. Burial will follow in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
