Obituary for Carole Kelley Peck

Carole Kelley Peck died April 2, 2017 at Samaritas Senior Living of Bloomfield Hills. She was 85 years old. Carole was born September 19, 1931, in Detroit to parents Helen (nee Niebes) and Roy Werthmann.

Carole attended Michigan State University and went on to work for Grant Advertising Agency during the 1950s. She married David Kelley in 1956, had three children, and became very involved in Holy Name, Marian, and Brother Rice High School. Outside of her home, Carole enjoyed a successful career as an advertising executive with Gannett in Detroit. She was also a member of Oakland Hills Country Club, The Village Club, Christ Child Society, and Brother Rice Mothers’ Club. She married Raymond Peck in 1988, and in retirement, spent winters in Vero Beach Florida and summers in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Carole is survived by her loving children, Joanne (Bill Roney) Kelley, Peter Kelley, and Patrick Kelley, and her brother, Thomas (Carol) Werthmann. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Claire, Sarah, David, Patrick, Mary Katherine, Meghan, Will (Deborah) Roney, and Ellen (David) Green, her stepchildren, Suzanne (Pete) Avila, Patricia (David) Backus, Nancy (Richard) Ranieri, Raymond (Kimberly) Peck, and their children and grandchildren. Carole is preceded in death by her beloved husbands, David Kelley and Raymond Peck, and her brother Allan Werthmann.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd. (between 14-15 Mile Rds.), Clawson, MI 48017, Friday 4-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon, Birmingham, Saturday 10am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 9:30am.
