Obituary for Carol E. Goodell

Carol E. Goodell died suddenly on January 14 at her longtime home in Bingham Farms. She was 78 years old. Carol was born October 30, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Ruth and Theodore Jentelson.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Gerald Goodell, and her sister, Kathrin Cole. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John, and her beloved dog, Apple.

Carol attended the University of Michigan and Ohio State University where she received Bachelors and Masters degrees in chemistry. After graduation, she held various jobs working with a fashion designer, selling in local art galleries and finally working for 15 years for E. I. DuPont at their automotive coatings lab in Troy where she met her husband.

She loved creating art, first as a painter and, later in life, as a digital artist who donated custom Photoshop artwork of pets and children to fundraising auctions for various charities she supported. She cherished her many friendships developed over the years and communicated frequently with them all. She loved animals, particularly dogs, and her dog, Apple, was a constant joy in her life. She will be remembered and dearly missed by her husband, family and friends.

At her request, there will be no funeral or memorial service held. Cremation will take place at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to The Michigan Humane Society.
