Obituary for Carl C. Qualmann

Carl C. Qualmann, a long time resident of Troy, died January 18, 2012, at Woodward Hills Nursing Home in Bloomfield Hills. He was 87 years old. Carl was born February 18, 1924, in Center Line to Alice (nee Simonds) and Charles Qualmann. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. Carl married Margaret Fallon on August 22, 1953.

Carl was a teacher for the Van Dyke Schools in Warren until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of St. Thomas More Church in Troy where he was an usher and the American Legion in Grand Haven. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, skiing and traveling. Carl especially enjoyed spending summers with his family in Grand Haven.

Carl is survived by his beloved wife, Marge Qualmann and children, Gary (Suzanne) Qualmann, Lori (Philip) Brown, Jeff (Cindy) Qualmann, and Jill (Gary) Peck. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alexandra, Ryan, Cameron, and Emma, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Sunday 3-8pm with prayers at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, 4580 Adams Road, Troy, Monday 10am.
