Obituary for Brian Michael Graham

Brian Michael Graham of Clarkston, Michigan, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021. He was 58 years old. Brian was born May 1, 1962, in Royal Oak, Michigan, to parents Robert J. Graham, Sr. and Lorene (nee Bollinger) Graham.

A 1980 graduate of Oxford High School, Brian Graham, C.Ped., went on to become a Board Certified Pedorthist by both the ABC and BOC. He completed courses of study at Northwestern University, Orthotic & Prosthetic Center, and the Cleveland Clinic Orthotic Prosthetic Center. As a former competitive mogul skier, Brian developed an interest in orthotics and biomechanics. He designed his own line of custom orthotics for athletic footwear. In the early 1990s, he worked in technical services for Head Winter Sports. During that time, he also served as a boot tester for Ski Magazine. Brian worked extensively with Warren Witherell, author of "The Athletic Skier" and "How the Racers Ski". He, along with Dr. Arthur Manoli, co-designed and patented the Arch Rival by DJO GLOBAL, the world’s first and only prefabricated foot orthotic to treat the high arch foot.

Brian had a love for motor cross and spent countless weekends with his father at tracks across Michigan. He later discovered his love for skiing, specifically mogul, resulting in long lasting friendships with so many wonderful people. He also adored his Labradors, Mulligan and Bruno. He dedicated his life to improving the lives of others through his skill and craft for correcting the human foot and ankle. He worked with everyone from children to the elderly, local and state athletic programs, as well as the NBA and NFL. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda S. Graham, bonus daughter Kali McGowan (Jordan), bonus son Chaz Jernigan (Trisha Stander), and grandchildren Sawyer Hayes Jernigan and River Elizabeth Jernigan. He is also survived by his sister, Kathleen Graham Cicchini (Steven), niece, Paige Elizabeth Cicchini, mother-in-law Anita Jeanne Reynolds, father-in-law Jack Patrick Hayes, brothers-in-law, Michael Hayes and Robert Lovegren, and sisters-in-law Terry Kathleen Foster (Kevin) and Patricia Ann Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert J. Graham, Jr.

Visitation for the public will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road, Clawson, Friday, January 15, 3-8pm. Masks and social distancing are required. A private Funeral Service will take place Saturday morning. The service will be recorded, and a link will be provided here by Saturday afternoon.
