Obituary for Bonnie Jean McClure

Bonnie Jean McClure
November 15, 1969 – September 25, 2021

To know her was to love her. After a day surrounded by family and close friends, Bonnie Jean McClure passed away peacefully at her home in Commerce Michigan.

Bonnie grew up in Birmingham Michigan and went to Seaholm High school. As a child she attended Black River Farm and Ranch Horse camp where she met many of her lifelong friends. She attended college at the University of Arizona and majored in psychology. After graduation, she moved back to Michigan and started her career in the telecommunications industry. Her greatest source of joy in life was raising her two children in Commerce Township. Bonnie waged the most courageous battle against breast/metastatic cancer for 18 years, becoming an inspiration and a hero to those who loved her. Through the years, she inspired and participated in many events raising thousands of dollars to benefit breast cancer awareness and research.

She loved to horseback ride, ski, golf, kayak and mountain bike ride. She loved the Tigers. She loved good comedy and great music. She loved to read and was part of many book clubs over the years. She enjoyed her birds and her garden. She loved coffee and outings with friends and was a master of good conversation. Bonnie was quick witted with an infectious laugh and unparalleled sense of humor. She looked for the good in everyone and set the gold standard for grace, kindness and respect. Her love of family, friends and her extraordinary zest for life will always be remembered.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Anne Muellenhagen. She is survived by her father, Robert James “Jim” McClure and her beloved children, Maxwell Stanecki and Corrin Stanecki. She is also survived by and loved by many family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Roads) Sunday, October 3rd from 2-8pm with a tribute and sharing of memories at 7pm. The Funeral Service will be celebrated Monday, October 4th, 10am at Lynch and Sons. Friends may visit at the funeral home beginning at 9:30am. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Beverly Hills, immediately after Monday’s service with a luncheon to follow.

Memorial contributions may be made in Bonnie’s name to one of her favorite causes, Susan G Komen or Camp Casey.
