Obituary for Benjamin R. Bibbee

Benjamin R. Bibbee, 38, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on August 16, 2021. He will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever.

Ben is survived by his parents, Richard and Deborah Bibbee. He is also survived by his sister (and best friend) Jessica (Michael) Druzinski, his nephew Brady, and his niece Natalie. He will also be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his grandparents Thaddeus and Laura Zaleski and Vernon Bibbee and Dorothy Kinney.

Born in Royal Oak, Michigan on April 20, 1983, Ben went on to attend St. Hugo of the Hills, Brother Rice High School, where he was a National Merit Scholar, and then University of Michigan.

Ben loved his family, friends, anything outdoors, and music. He often spoke fondly of hiking through Zion National Park. He loved becoming an uncle and developed special bonds with his niece and nephew. Ben was a special and one-of-a-kind soul. He was clever, witty, incredibly intelligent, and one of the funniest people around. His laugh, hallmark sense of humor and love for making others laugh and feel comfortable will always be remembered. He was second to none at coining nicknames, inside jokes, and playing pranks on his family and friends. Perhaps above all, Ben will be remembered as a great listener who cared deeply for others and could always be counted on.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Ben’s life will be held for friends and family on Sunday, October 10, 2021, 4-7pm at Rochester Municipal Park (Kiwanis Shelter).

Ben loved animals. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Ben to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA):
