Obituary for Albertina T. Fedor Popa

Albertina T. Fedor Popa died peacefully August 1, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was 70 years old. Tina was born February 15, 1942, in Detroit to Flora (nee Silage) and Albert Koernke.

Tina served as the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian School bus driver from 1975 to 1981. She spent years at the International Institute as a social worker and translator serving the Romanian community of metro Detroit. She was a member of the Austrian Society for over 45 years and a devoted member of St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church. Tina also sewed and knitted for the Capuchin Soup Kitchen volunteer program. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by many.

Beloved mother of Maria (Jean-Christophe Tarazona) Fedor, Albert Fedor, Anna Fedor, Peter (Ric Frievalt) Fedor, Christina (Stelian) Chesa, and Larissa Popa. Proud grandmother of Erika (Scott) Feldmaier, Emily Sakstrup, and Sophia, Christopher, and Theodora Chesa. Dear sister of Theresa Koernke, IHM, and Florence (Ernest) Nolan. Also survived by her dear friend Dr. Grace Engler.

Visitation at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd. (between 14-15 Mile Rds.), Friday 3-8pm. Funeral at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church, 26401 Saint Josaphat Dr., Warren, Saturday 10am.

Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit.
