Obituary for Albert Damiani

Albert Damiani passed away January 14, 2011, with his family at his side. He was 87 years old. Albert was born February 28, 1923, in Detroit to Theresa (nee Fatagoni) and Saverio Damiani.

He graduated from Northwestern High School in Detroit in 1941. He served honorably in the Navy during WWII, stationed in the Philippine Islands. He attended Lawrence Technological University, and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. In 1951, he married Joyce Ann Pleznac. Albert had a successful career as a sales engineer, working for Jervis B. Webb Company, and later Fairfield Engineering, where he earned several sales awards, and retired in 1985.

Albert enjoyed golf, sports, and following college and professional football, especially the Detroit Lions and Michigan Wolverines. He was active in St. Lawrence and St. Hugo parishes. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a great husband and father, and through his example taught his children to love God and family. Albert�s outgoing personality, infectious smile, and hearty laugh will be missed by all who knew him.

Albert is survived by his wife, Joyce, and his five children, Linda Damiani, Daniel (Regina) Damiani, Mary Ann (Timothy) Conner, Carolyn (Harold) Bryant, and John Damiani. He is also survived by his brother John Damiani, his sister Flora Fraternali, his brother in law, Robert J. Pleznac, and his grandchildren Anna, Paul, Joseph, Natalie, Joshua, Christina, Kevin, and Kyle.

Visitation at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.), Monday 4-8pm. Funeral at St. Hugo of the Hills Stone Chapel, 2215 Opdyke, Bloomfield Hills, Tuesday 10am. Friends may visit beginning at 9:30am.

Interment will take place in Ottawa Park Cemetery in Clarkston.
