Obituary for Alan E. Markhoff

Alan E. Markhoff, of Rochester Hills, died October 6, 2012 at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy. He was 68 years old. Alan was born November 3, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Helen Margaret (nee Heisner) and Lester Markhoff.

Alan was a graduate of Birmingham Seaholm High School and a 1965 graduate of Western Michigan University, where he earned a Bachelor�s in Business Administration. He was a career employee of General Motors, working as a financial analyst at the Chevolet, Warren and Power-Train, Pontiac plants before retiring in 2000. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, working around his home and cruises to some of his favorite destinations with his loving wife, Janice. Alan was an avid college sports fan. He loved cheering for the University of Michigan Wolverines and visiting Hilton Head, South Carolina. His favorite passion was spending time with his family. Alan will be deeply missed.

Alan is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Markhoff; loving daughter, Kim Vanderveen and loving son, Steve (Sharon) Markhoff. He is the proud grandfather to Katie, Ben, Charlie, Sam and Libbie. He is also survived by his sister, Carole (Gordon) Doyle.

Funeral at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd. (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Tuesday 11am. Visitation Monday 4-8pm. Interment in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
