Obituary for Al Wease

Al Wease, a long-time resident of Royal Oak, died peacefully at his home December 23, 2011. He was 86 years old. Al was born, Ayleet Wease, Jr. on August 2, 1925 in Detroit to parents Ayleet Wease, Sr. and Roberta (nee Lively) Wease.

Al proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Gunner's Mate on the DE USS Cole. He met and married Ola Plumtree in 1947. Al spent 28 dedicated years as an electrician for Detroit Edison before retiring in 1981. He was a loyal member of the VFW Post #1669 in Royal Oak. Al was an avid Detroit sports fan but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by many.

Al is survived by his wife Ola, and children, Sue (Jim) Smith and Bud (Deborah) Wease. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Richie, Nick (Marielle), Tracy (Brad), Kerry, Sam (Kari), Brad (Melisa), Kristy, Max (Charlina), and Mickey and great-grandchildren, J.R., Sydney, Emma, Reagan, Lillian, Ava, and Alyssa. Al is preceded in death by his daughter, Joanne Metivier, and sister, Betty Forsythe.

Funeral Services will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Tuesday 11am. Friends may visit Monday 2-8pm. Interment in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
