Obituary for Adoracion G. Espiritu

Adoracion G. Espiritu died October 26, 2020 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was 86 years old. Adoracion was born on May 30, 1934 in Pasig City, Philippines to parents, Maria and Antero Gamboa.

Adoracion was born and raised in the Philippines. She married Remigio Espiritu, Sr. on June 19, 1955; a marriage that would span many years and give birth to seven children, nineteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. In 1995, Adoracion moved from the Philippines to the United States, placing her roots here in Michigan.

Adoracion had many hobbies. She was an incredible cook. She enjoyed gardening, going for walks, shopping, and traveling. She especially enjoyed her annual trips back to the Philippines. She could also be found curled up watching her favorite Teleserye.

Most of all, however, she loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was “Nanay” to everybody who knew her. She worked hard all her life to provide for her children and put them through school. She poured her love into her grandchildren and great-grandchildren creating a special bond with each one of them. They will remember her best for her contagious laugh. She would joke that laughter keeps you young.

Adoracion was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving children, Remidor (Irene), Isabelita (Ismael), Remigio Jr. (Joy), Ester (Rodney), and Xenon Rafirex (Aurora). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Leslie (Asharf), Mei-Ling (Fritz), Arnaldo Jr., Kristoffer, Lara Trisha, Arianne, Cheyenne, Allison, Kenneth, May, Rap, Itchay, Angel, Quin (Jeremy), Jason (Nilufer), Jam, Judy Mae, Stephanie, and Ryan, her great-grandchildren, El-deeb, Laraizadora, Benjamin, Cameron, Isabella, Mia, Kade, Andrew, and Mattie Luke, her dear sister, Violeta, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Remigio Sr., her children, Arnaldo Sr. (Annabelle) and Fernando and her siblings, Luring, David, and Eduardo.

Visitation for Adoracion will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home 1368 N. Crooks Road, Clawson, Michigan (between 14 & 15 Mile Roads) on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 5-8pm. A Funeral Service will begin at 7pm.

Adoracion will also have services in the Philippines at a later date. She will be buried next to her husband, two children, and father in Pasig Catholic Cemetery in Pasig City, Philippines. We will update this as we know more on those services.
